[North Broward Prep Insider](https://www.nordangliaeducation.com/nbps-florida/news) 3. A Day in the Life at North Broward Preparatory Located in the vibrant heart of Coconut Creek, Florida, North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is a dynamic hub of learning and activity. Known for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence, NBPS offers students a unique blend of rigorous education and enriching experiences, all designed to foster personal growth and development. What does a typical day for a middle and high school student at this prestigious school look like? Let’s explore the daily life at North Broward and uncover what makes this institution a truly special place for students to thrive. ## Morning Routine: Fueling the Mind The day begins early for NBPS students, with the first bell ringing at 8:25 AM. However, many students start their day even earlier. Boarding students begin with breakfast in the dining hall where they have a wide assortment of healthy options to start the day off with nourishing and wholesome choices. Middle school students gather in their homerooms at 8:05am for a brief morning session, setting the tone for the day. This time is dedicated to announcements, important updates, and connecting with both teachers and peers. ## Academic Exploration: The Core Curriculum NBPS prides itself on offering a diverse curriculum designed to challenge and inspire learners. From engaging mathematics classes that explore complex theories to literature courses where students analyze diverse texts with relevant and enduring themes. The school’s academic environment is both stimulating and nurturing, with small class sizes, students receive personalized attention which fosters an interactive and collaborative atmosphere. As an Apple Distinguished School, NBPS seamlessly integrates technology into learning. With iPads as essential tools and interactive displays enhancing instruction, students actively engage with digital resources, preparing them for a tech-driven world. --- Download our Viewbook and Learn More about North Broward Preparatory School! --- ## Lunch Break: A Social Hub Despite the rigorous academic schedule, NBPS ensures that students have time to relax and recharge. Lunch is not just about refueling—it’s an opportunity to socialize, unwind, and enjoy a variety of culinary options. The campus dining hall caters to diverse tastes and dietary needs, with meals created weekly using local and seasonal ingredients. Students also have the option to visit the campus store for a snack or head to Le Café for alternative meal choices. ## Afternoon Activities: Beyond the Classroom After lunch, students return to their academic classes, but the afternoons at NBPS offer more than just coursework. The school provides a wide range of extracurricular activities and clubs, from drama and robotics to fashion design and affinity groups, ensuring there’s something for every interest. Competitive athletics play a significant role at NBPS as well, with a variety of sports in every season such as soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, hockey, and swimming. These activities not only build physical strength but also foster teamwork, discipline, and resilience. "At NBPS, we take great pride in the number of opportunities we provide for our students, and that extends to our athletic programs as well," said Athletic Director Tricia Amrhein. "Our student-athletes compete at a high level, but more importantly, they build character, leadership, and lifelong skills that will serve them well beyond their time on the field or court. The lessons learned through athletics—commitment, perseverance, and teamwork—help shape their future success in all aspects of life." ## Evening Wind-Down: Reflection and Preparation As the day draws to a close, our residential students may head to the fitness center for a workout. The school’s emphasis on physical well-being is evident in its state-of-the-art facilities, encouraging students to end their day with a final boost of energy before working on their evening studies. From there, students often head to the library or study halls to complete assignments or work on collaborative projects. This time is essential for reflection and preparation, ensuring students are ready for the challenges of the next day. Teachers remain available to offer guidance and support as needed. By the time students leave campus, the sky is often painted with the colors of sunset, signaling the end of another enriching day at NBPS. Their experiences within the school help shape their personal growth, preparing them for future academic pursuits and life beyond the classroom. For boarding students, life continues even after the school day ends. Evenings and weekends offer a variety of enriching activities and opportunities for personal growth. Evening study sessions provide a quiet, supportive environment, with live in faculty available to help students focus on their academic goals. Extracurricular activities foster teamwork and leadership skills, while weekends allow students to explore new hobbies, attend cultural events, or participate in community service projects, all aimed at broadening their horizons and deepening their understanding of the world. Moreover, the chance to build lasting friendships with fellow students from diverse backgrounds creates a vibrant, inclusive community that supports each individual’s journey toward success. ## Conclusion: A Preparatory Experience Like No Other ![Screenshot 2025-03-28 at 2.44.53 PM](https://blog.nbps.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202025-03-28%20at%202.44.53%20PM.png?width=3154&height=512&name=Screenshot%202025-03-28%20at%202.44.53%20PM.png) A day at North Broward Preparatory School is a whirlwind of discovery, learning, and growth.
