[North Broward Prep Insider](https://www.nordangliaeducation.com/nbps-florida/news) 3. Making Your Enrollment Decision Simple: A Parent’s Guide Embarking on the journey of choosing a boarding or day school for your child can feel like standing at a crossroads with numerous paths and only one leading to your ideal destination. For many parents, the enrollment decision process can seem daunting, a complex puzzle involving academic considerations, extracurricular opportunities, and a school’s values. However, with the right approach and support, this decision can become an engaging and enriching experience. At North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS), our mission is to inspire global citizens to live with purpose and create their future. We are committed to providing an inspiring educational experience that nurtures individuality, fosters curiosity, and builds a foundation for lifelong success.  Here’s how to approach the enrollment process with confidence and clarity, and how NBPS is here to support you every step of the way. ## 1. Prioritize Your Child’s Needs and Interests Start by understanding your child’s passions, learning style, and goals. Do they thrive in creative environments, seek intellectual challenges, or value community and connection? Identifying these priorities will help narrow your search. --- Download our Viewbook and Learn More about North Broward Preparatory School! --- For example, a student passionate about visual arts might seek a school with studio facilities and gallery exhibitions. At NBPS, students can explore a robust arts program including fine arts, digital media, dance, theater, and music, all supported by expert faculty and state-of-the-art resources.  ## 2. Do Your Homework Take time to research potential schools. Review websites, academic offerings, testimonials, and rankings. Look for how each school lives its mission and supports student development. NBPS makes this step easy with a wealth of resources available online, including videos, curriculum guides, and student success stories. You’ll find details about everything from advanced placement courses to international baccalaureate programs and extracurricular activities. ## 3. Visit and Experience There’s no substitute for experiencing a school in person. Walking the halls, observing classes, and speaking with faculty and students can help you determine if a school feels like the right fit. NBPS offers personalized campus tours, open house events, and student shadow days to help families get a feel for our welcoming community and vibrant daily life.  We also understand that many families are interested in our school from out of state or even from other countries. To help you gain a good feel for our campus, we offer a virtual tour where you can explore our facilities, learn about our programs, and meet with some of our faculty and staff.  “The campus is modern and tranquil, the teachers are educated and thoughtful and the student body is kind and inclusive. The school works hard to make sure that every lesson relates in multiple areas. If your child is studying ancient culture in social studies, they are writing a paper about Mesopotamia in English and doing science projects on irrigation in science.” Parent on Niche.com ## 4. Seek Personalized Guidance Choosing a school is not just about data, it’s about fit. A strong admissions team can help you navigate questions about academics, residential life, tuition, and how your child’s unique strengths will be supported. Our NBPS admissions team provide individualized support throughout the process, from initial inquiry to enrollment. We listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and help you understand what life will be like for your child on campus. --- Download our Viewbook and Learn More about North Broward Preparatory School! --- ## 5. Evaluate Support Systems A school’s commitment to student well-being is just as important as academics. Ask about college advising, emotional support, tutoring, and community life. At NBPS, we provide comprehensive student support through dedicated advisors, college counseling, social-emotional programming, and peer mentoring. Our learning specialists and counselors ensure every student has the tools and guidance they need to succeed and feel supported throughout their journey. ## 6. Trust Your Instincts After doing your research and visiting campuses, trust your instincts. Think about how each school made you and your child feel. Was it welcoming? Did the environment feel aligned with your family’s values? Many NBPS families say their decision was sealed during a campus visit, when they saw their child light up with excitement or connect naturally with a teacher or student ambassador. Sometimes, that feeling of belonging speaks louder than any brochure. ## Ready to Take the Next Step? Choosing the right boarding or day school is an important decision, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By focusing on your child’s needs, doing thoughtful research, and engaging with schools like North Broward Preparatory School that offer personalized support, you can turn this process into a meaningful and confident journey.
